Tell us a little more about you, Gavin. You work for the Jersey branch but you’re based on the Isle of Wight. What brought you there?
I’ve lived in the Isle of Wight all my life! In fact, the house I live in with my wife and children is the one that I grew up in; and, before that, my father grew up in the same house. One of the things I like most about Cherry Godfrey is the strong sense of community in and across the islands; and I’ve certainly got a great connection with both the Isle of Wight and Jersey.
Great to hear! What do you do at Cherry Godfrey?
I’m a Personal Lines Broker: this means I’m devoted to all insurance coverage for individuals. From car and home solutions to health, I enjoy getting to know each of my clients to find the best policies for them.
What attracted you to Cherry Godfrey?
I started in 2022 but already feel completely at home – this tells you something about the company! It really is a family business, and everyone has been so supportive and welcoming. This warm, friendly ethos extends to all our clients: we really do believe in going above and beyond when it comes to customer service. It’s a very happy place in which to work.
Everyone is delighted to have you onboard, Gavin! What are your favourite things to do when you’re not working?
I have three children - Eleanor (13), Felicity (5), and Alex (2) – and they keep me and my wife Frances busy (though I’m probably the most childish of the lot!). I love Batman, movies, Lego, photography, flying my drone or generally messing around with the kids. I also have a little craft business (well, business may be a slight exaggeration….!). I make bits and bobs from recycled wood and sell them at craft fayres - mainly to have somewhere to get rid of things once I’ve made them!
